A collection of musicians, who have either played alongside, or have been influenced by, Mike Oldfield, have come together to record some of Oldfield’s music. These include Barry Palmer, who sang on the European hit ‘Crime Of Passion’, Les Penning who played on the Christmas hit ‘In Dulci Jubilo’, and the original Tubular Bells producer Tom Newman. Alongside these luminaries, a new generation of gifted musicians have taken up the mantle and produced some amazing material as a tribute to Mike as Tubular Bells celebrates 50 years in popular culture. These tracks have, in some cases, never been released or were rare B-sides. They have been reimagined and produced to a high standard and this CD is a meant as a big thank you to Mike Oldfield.

This is the most beautiful symphonic progressive music I have heard since I first heard Yes' Magnification nearly 20 years ago. Robert Reed's orchestrations are magnificent, and are very much on par with Trevor Rabin's film scores as well as Larry Groupe's score for Magnification. I am a french horn player, and his soaring horn parts are some of the best I have ever heard. For some reason I could not select Part1: Sacrifice as my favorite track. It is indeed my favorite. luckeydoug1
